Your Starter Site Workflow

When starting any client website:

  1. Duplicate your Starter Site

  2. Rename it for the client

  3. Update global styles (fonts + colours)

  4. Swap content

  5. Use saved sections to build pages fast

  6. Upgrade to annual → points flow to you

  7. Hand over

If you want to get fancy later:

“Rules of Use”

  • Always duplicate this site — never rebuild it

  • Never change the starter site styling except to improve the system

  • Do not put client content in the starter

  • Always reset Section Library to neutral tones before saving

  • Save new sections only if they’re reusable across at least 3 future clients

This keeps the starter file from becoming cluttered over time (which is the #1 killer of good starter sites).

START HERE

Set global site styles

1

Set the neutrals — because you’ll replace these for every client anyway.

    • Black (#000)

    • White (#FFF)

    • Light Neutral (e.g., #F5F5F5)

    • Dark Neutral (e.g., #333)

    • Accent Placeholder (#C2A680 — warm beige or your SoGold gold tone)

  • Pick very clean and generic base fonts — not your brand fonts:

    • Heading: Inter, Medium

    • Paragraph: Inter, Regular

    • Buttons: Inter, Medium

(You’ll replace these in each client build.)

  • Set consistent:

    • section padding

    • max width containers

    • spacing blocks

This ensures your layouts stay clean even before styling.

Migrate styles from templates to your site

2

Open your purchased template in a separate window

You’ll be copying styles, not structure.

  • Go into your bought template →
    Design → Colours →

Copy each hex code and paste into your Starter Site’s colour palette.

  • Design → Fonts →
    Copy:

    • Heading font

    • Paragraph font

    • Button font

    • Sizes

    • Line-height

    • Letter spacing

Paste settings into your Starter Site.

  • Design → Buttons
Copy padding, border radius, hover states, etc.

  • Design → Spacing
Copy section padding, content widths, gaps.

  • If the template uses hover or scroll animations, recreate them manually in your Starter.

Copy individual blocks and sections

3

Now go into your purchased template and:

Save every useful section to your own Library

    • Hero sections

    • Image + text blocks

    • Gallery styles

    • Testimonials

    • Product layouts

    • Contact layouts

    • Grids

    • Feature blocks

    • Newsletter sections

  • save them into YOUR account, from YOUR starter site, not within the original purchased site.

    1. Go to your purchased template

    2. Copy the section

    3. Paste it into your Starter Site

    4. Save it to your section library from THERE

This transforms your purchased template elements into YOUR admin lineage.
